Sort Legal is a trading name of Sort Legal Limited, regulated by the Council of Licensed Conveyancers to provide residential and commercial conveyancing services.
We use the latest cutting edge technology to allow our clients to be able to complete many of the required documentation online, using any device and enable transactions to be completed quicker and with less stress. Coupled with excellent customer service and a proactive approach, we are able to offer an outstanding service to our clients.
Our parent company has invested heavily in technology to make us stand out and be able to deliver conveyancing in a way clients would expect in what is now a faster paced industry.
We cut down the time it takes a conventional law firm to get a case up and running by using our technology for your benefit. With the use of our online system you can login, instruct us, complete the required legal forms and send the ID to us in an average time of 45 minutes. We are then ready to issue Contracts from the point of instruction, which leaves other law firms lagging behind.
We deal with most types of sale (with the exclusion of auction properties) and our experienced case handlers will guide you through the process in a friendly and knowledgeable manner.
We deal with all types of purchases including Right To Buy and Buy to Let and make the journey of buying a property smooth and simple. Buying a property can be a stressful experience but with our approach we are always there to guide and advise giving the best possible service to you.
We request searches early in the transaction to avoid unnecessary delays. We strive to work in synergy with all parts of the chain to ensure that your experience is as seamless as possible. Our aim is to make the journey from instruct to picking up your new house keys as stress free as possible.
We offer a swift and efficient remortgage service which makes the process of switching lenders a smooth transition. We utilise our market leading technology to enhance the process to achieve quick turnaround times.
If you require a change in names or a transfer of the property as part of the remortgage process we can provide a competitive price when taken as part of the service.
We also offer a standalone transfer of equity service which is transparently priced.
Commercial property conveyancing and lease arrangements are usually more complex than their residential counterparts, however our team of experts on hand can advise on sale, purchase and transfers of commercial property. Each case is assessed on an individual basis and is competitively priced, offering you a service and price you can trust.
Based in Derby, our team of employees is continually growing due to growth and expansion. So that you can get to know us, we’ve included some short profiles for our Directors and Managers.
Tom is a Solicitor and has worked in Conveyancing for 35 years (and counting) and has loved every minute. He’s worked at a few large law firms during his career so far and has worked to set up Conveyancing departments from scratch. He has specific experience in leasehold work, new build, shared ownership, auction purchase and title splits to name a few.
On a personal level, Tom prefers ‘proper football’ at FC United of Manchester to the entertainment dished up at the theatre of dreams these days!
Keith is neither a Licensed Conveyancer or Solicitor, but he is an Accountant (and a qualified Mortgage Broker) and looks after the Finances here at Sort Legal. He first joined the legal world in 2010, prior to that working in the ship repair and heavy manufacturing sector.
Outside of work, Keith likes nothing more than spending time at home with his cats and chickens, and has aspirations to one day open an Alpaca farm!
Kevin is the director of the company, and although he isn’t a Conveyancer, he has worked in the financial industry for over 20 years, a mortgage adviser for over 10 years.
In his spare time, Kev enjoys supporting his team Derby County, but he also likes taking part in sports too. He has also taken part in a number of charity challenges, his most recent being a 200-mile bike ride in Spain for Macmillan Cancer Support in 2018.
Jessica started working in Law in 2003 and spent two years training before becoming fully qualified in 2005. Jessica is multi-disciplined in all areas of law.
In her spare time, Jessica likes spending time with friends and family and enjoys going on holiday, recently visiting New York. Jess is also a classically trained singer (something, which she keeps under her hat!)
